722 Figueroa hosted an event showcasing Theo’s work and I was there to document the times.
Theo Ehret, photographer for the Olympic Auditorium from 1965-1985, was known for truly capturing the historic moments of all the boxing & wrestling greats, including Muhammad Ali, George Foreman & Andre the Giant. He also documented the emerging Latino sports culture of Los Angeles by capturing the rise of the Lucha Libra Wrestlers like Mil Máscaras, El Medico & John Tolos, as well as, boxers like Danny “Little Red” Lopez & Roberto Durán.
