Players begin on a beach of a mysterious world with no knowledge except for a single piece of user interface that reads ‘Hunger – 60%’. Very shortly they’ll discover a plant different from every other one in the world. They can eat this plant, and from there they understand their sole goal in the game: to explore in order to survive. However they also learn quite quickly this isn’t a game that stops. Even when the game is shut down, starvation doesn’t stop, and time is still passing. Players are forced to either return to their computer to ensure survival on a day-to-day basis, or die. Once a player dies, the game locks them out permanently with no ability to restart or replay.
