Yes, it has finally happened. The Eugene District BLM has begun planning its first timber sale under the Western Oregon Plan Revisions, or WOPR. The plan allows massive increases in logging, much of it clear cutting of biodiverse native forest and old growth. It also slashes the stream side buffer zones putting fish populations even more at risk. This video shows exactly what is at stake near the popular Fall Creek Recreation Area.
