While I called myself a TV reporter, it eventually dawned on me that my career was essentially about producing really, really short films. Each day on the job I attempted to cram in all the elements of story - setting, foreshadowing, conflict, resolution, and character growth - in the space of two minutes. This piece, about a boy and a man facing their own fears together, hit just about all of them.
