In the late 1980’s and early 90’s, between assignments, I photographed fashion shows in Paris, Milan, and London. While the world of photojournalism and the war zones that I was always in were so different from the back stages of fashion shows, I found myself in both cases amidst passionate, disciplined, competitive, often very sophisticated, professionals, who often were incredibly humble, with a drive to work on a world stage. This was the era of the Supermodel and one of the great eras for globe trotting photojournalists.
I have put together an essay of my photographs-most that have never been published. They include images of
Patricia Velasquez, Iman, Catherine Deneuve, Claudia Schiffer, Linda Evangelista, Naomi Campbell, Nadja Auermann, Christy Turlington, , Kate Moss, Marpessa Hennink, Eve Savail, Veronica Webb, Tyra Banks, Angie Everhart, Gianfranco Ferre, Valentino, and Karl Lagerfeld. I have put this essay to Adele’s music Rolling in the Deep- “There’s a Fire Starting in My Heart”
