A friend and I had heard about a film challenge called the "48 hour film challenge" so decided to half the time - 24 hours.
So, the basic idea of this (incase you haven't already guessed) - Set a time, say from 12pm Monday until 12pm Tuesday - And in-between those exact times you have to Write, Shoot and successfully Edit (by that I mean COMPLETE) a film.
To make it a little harder, we wrote down 6 possible genres, a prop that we had to use to had to be in the film, a line that had to be said & something that had to happen within the film.
We ended up with;
A shadow puppet
"we need to get to a shitter soon mate, I'm turtle heading over here"
& a chase/running sequence.
This, is what we came up with and in fact we finished stupidly early. We began at 11:15am and were finished by about 12:30am.
This was shot on a Canon 5D mark II, 50mm 1.8 & Sigma 24-70mm 2.8 lenses.
Edited on final cut express.
The only real tampering we had to do was with the sound. All sounds were found and foraged on royalty-free websites or made ourselves using audacity.
For a film belted out in just under 13 hours, I don't think it's half bad!
