Not only is this a display of extreme technical talent(s), but you have captured the essence of childhood and that dynamic 'spark' of imagination that is so often stripped from us on the our way to adulthood.

I loved the water-drop-juggling, the pencil-trapezes and the snail skin and movements.

Overall, the magical storyline of the boy being completely immersed in the fantasy combined with HOW you conveyed it through the variety of camera angles, close focus, and choice of accentuating particular details, is exceptional.

    Fan-tastic!

    I totally agree with byte4byte.

It's a really well directed shortfilm and a masterpiece of technique!

    great job!

Wow! many thanks for this comment, byte4byte, what you like in Bave Circus, this "essence of childhood", is exactly what we most wanted to show, and we particularly worked with camera angles, focus - basically, the storyboard - to immerse the spectator in this fantasy with the boy.

Above, Martijn Doornenbal wrote "it makes me happy!", "Birds and Blokes Wear Climbing" said "Tunes in a positive... " : reading these, I can say "mission accomplished", that was our goal.

Thank you all for all these comments, it makes us very proud, and eager to make other films!

What a wonderful story. The artwork and animation are so realistic. The story took me back to being a young man when I hung out in my own tree house. Of course I did not have the snails but I had the imagination. I am very glad I found this great little story. Thank you so much for it and the cool music.

man, the lightining is just incredible! how you did it? is it HDR? have you used GI or something like that?!
    great job!
  • DuDuF 7 months ago
    Thanks!

There's a little bit of GI and/or Final Gather yes, but just used as small enhancements, we mainly used the basic lights of 3DS Max... And some compositing with After Effects to adjust colors ;)
  • DuDuF 7 months ago
(volume lights were made with after effects)
