It was a dark and clear night, with a full moon to boot. Shot on a Panasonic GH2 with Fujinon A18x8.5 BEVM 2/3" B4 lens. Stock firmware, 2x extender in ETC mode. 1/250 shutter speed, ISO 200, and f4 on the lens. Camera was locked down, it took the moon about 6 minutes to traverse the frame, so the footage was sped up to 10% in AE, and unsharpened. Music is of course Richard Strauss's Also sprach Zarathustra, popularized by Stanley Kubrick as the theme from "2001 A Space Odyssey".
NOTE: Around the 52 second mark, a plane flew through the bottom of the moon, leaving its con trail briefly, that portion was in real time.
