This is a beautiful piece of automata built by Simon Blades and currently housed in the House of Katmandu in Majorca. The video is shot hand held on a silly camera - apologies for that. The first part is a bit dark, but stick with it. The lighting is supposed to gradually reveal the sculpture and in situ you would appreciate the shadows and bits of machinery that are lit. Although not present when shot, water is passed from 'bucket' to 'bucket' on a continuous cycle. The lighting, sounds and activation of the turntable and mech are controlled by part of an extensive iLIGHT system programmed by Graham Owens, Technovations Ltd.
