very very impressive work! A question - how'd you get that effect at 1:31 - the fast to slow. Is that done digitally or with your camera? reason is, I'm shopping for a camera right now! Considering the Panasonic GH1 - but want to make sure i'm not losing out of features of the more pro video cameras!
  • Patrick Lawler plus 2 months ago
well I shot almost the whole video (minus the girl with the hair blowing in the wind, and the guys jumping off the pier) on the Panasonic HVX200. That camera shoots up to 60fps. The shot at 1:31 is actually all at 60fps, I didn't do anything to it besides a little color correction.

But for all my slow motion stuff, I do speed ramping in post. So if I'm not mistaken the GH1 does shoot slo-mo and you should be fine.

However personally I would recommend the Canon 7D, because I've shot with it a lot, and buying lenses for it is a much better investment, than buying the weird ones that fit on the GH1. the 7D shoots up to 60p and does 24p and all that jazz.
