Hello everyone, this has sure been a fine summer as long as you can stand the heat. This week a have a little video for all of you showcasing a place that is unknown to most students at York University: the Computer Science and Engineering building’s Green Roof. York has a second Green Roof on top of the Pond Residence building; both Green Roofs are open to the public.
Green Roofs are the next step to provide a more sustainable way of living for humanity and York University is at the forefront of this environmental endeavour. Green Roofs, in urban environments, are meant to provide relief from the “urban heat island effect”. Green Roofs will also help reduce the occurrence of heat waves and CO2 emissions. If you wish to learn more go to yorkugreenroofs.com/index.html. You could also get involved and lend a helping hand whenever you have the spare time or spend some time there to relax. It’s also a great look out for the north side of campus. I’ll be featuring more places that you might not have known put should visit while at York u this week. Enjoy the video.
