Sure thing. It's a great add-on and a must have if you like a little more control over the camera.

I personally don't like to keep things on auto all the time so it was a no brainer.

The camera in general is a great camera but it's a little difficult to get used to at first if you currently use something a little bulkier like I do, (the Sony FX1).

The focus ring doesn't actually come with the camera. That's the one thing that I had to research and venture out to get. The stock focus wheel sucks if you ask me. The IrvDesign one I bought was totally worth the 50 bucks it cost me. It just snaps on and your good to go.

The HV40 is a solid buy. You can use it for travel and vacation stuff but it's also powerful enough to be used for professional stuff too if needed
