As our lives become increasingly digitalized. People have become interested in analyzing the data generated from their digital footprints, to gain insights in their lives.
However this movement has been limited to the tech community, as one must be code savvy in order to access one’s data and play with it.
This can be solved through creating an app based open source platform that allows the average person to data track and play with their data.
This app allows users to drag and drop data tracking modules in to different combinations so they can track nearly anything and analyze the relationship between things.
For example, John wants to understand when and why he’s most stressed. He’s interested in seeing how location, time, social media affects his stress levels so he chooses these tracking modules. John also chooses the self-report module so he can be reminded to self report his stress levels at certain times of the day.So in seconds he has created his custom data tracking app. With an open source data module framework, he can easily create a vast array of tracking apps.
Now that he has his data, John wants to understand it through visualization. Rather than presenting templates to visualize results. John is invited to play and explore his data through a set of tools. He can tag attributes of the data to visual attributes such as shape, size, color, velocity…etc. Through playing with different combinations, John will gain profound insights in to his data.
