Isabella Moore completed third year studies in Classical Voice at Te Kōkī New Zealand School of Music in 2012. In this recording from her final assessment she sings the first two of the four Opus 27 lied by Richard Strauss: 'Ruhe, meine Seele!' and 'Cäcilie'. She is accompanied by Bruce Greenfield.
The words for 'Ruhe, meine Seele' (English translation 'Rest, my Soul') are from a poem with the same title written by the poet Karl Henckell. The words for Cäcilie are from an eponymous love poem written by Heinrich Hart (1855-1906), a German dramatic critic and journalist.
In 2012 Isabella was a semifinalist in the Lexus Song Competition, winner of the Wellington Aria competition and was awarded the Iosefa Enari Memorial Award in the 2012 Arts Pasifika Awards. Isabella is taught at NZSM by Margaret Medlyn.
