Glad i saw that- and I came across this to share:
"Can we not see that this voyage (schizophrenia) is not what we need to be cured of-- but that it is itself a natural way of healing our own appalling state of alienation called normality?"- R.D. Laing

Nice work, Russel :) It's weird when you actually talk to people NOBODY talks to. Once I talked to the guy in the maroon subaru who drives around singing all the old songs. Gives you a glimpse that few people have. Oddly enough, the proxy of video makes this guy more accessible than if he were standing in front of you on Bedford & N7.

This guy used to be in the East Village when I lived there from 2002-2005. I called him the Preacher, he would yell until he was hoarse. I think it's ironic that he went out to Williamsburg.

I appreciate what you've done here, but I wish you could have somehow addressed the people he has harmed with his words.

For example, the women he has harassed and called whores, children he has supposedly 'intimidated', etc.

If this is supposed to garner sympathy for this man, it certainly doesn't from the people like me who have to live with his yelling day in and day out. My son can't sleep because of his offensive bellows. His constant accosting of people is simply uncivilized (for a man who keeps complaining about the uncivilized city he lives in). I say to Lawrence: please leave us be. Go yell it on the mountain, and leave the neighborhood so families, kids, hipsters, hebrews, latinos, poles, and people of all races, can live here in peace.

Story is interesting but I can not say I like the guy either. He has cornered and threatened me on the Williamsburg bridge while I was running just because I was wearing shorts. Kind of scary.
