In the village of Letnica, a statue of the Virgin Mary said to have accomplished many miracles, attracts every year thousands of pilgrims. But this place, that Mother Teresa used to visit in her childhood, is much less populated during the rest of the year : About 6.500 Croats were living in Letnica up to the mid-'90s, but most of the community left during the break-up of Yugoslavia. Their living conditions are increasingly difficult, but their faith hasn't changed one bit, found Nejbosa Vesić, while visiting the village.
