This is Mr Cronin, A Royal High School parent, playing a banjolele version of the recently prior verified banjo for SQA's Practical Craft Skills course. It is our understanding that the project will qualify for the soon to be launched National 4 & 5 Practical Woodworking course too.
The instrument is made mostly from pine, with a mahogany finger board and peg head veneer. The turned resonator panel spacers are also mahogany. A piece of calf skin has been stretched and held in place with furniture tacks - a 'tack head' arrangement.
