When we are with our horse, he'll know when we are think about the herd and he'll know when we are thinking only about ourselves. As humans, we must always think about our "Herd" rather than ourselves. Our horse needs to believe that we are always looking out for them, if he thinks that we are focused on ourselves - and not on him - he will try to look out for himself. It is up to us, as humans, to learn to keep the proper perspective when we are with our horse so that he can have confidence in our leadership ability.
