Part of the Concrete Elegance series produced by The Building Centre and The Concrete Centre.
The Lawn House is located in Snaresbrook, East London. The spaces within this residential extension are defined by two dividing lines that cross the plan. The first is a level change that marks the transition between the original house and the new building. The second is an imposed line that cuts diagonally through the new extension towards the garden. This line is used to define a material change between the living and play areas of the house and the cooking and dining areas. The former areas being primarily fabricated from natural and white stained timber and the latter cast in polished in situ concrete.
Nick also introduces the Hampstead Beach House and Hairy House projects.
