The 2009 Youth Declaration represents the voice of 50 million Red Cross and Red Crescent youth volunteers and workers worldwide. The Declaration was officially presented in Geneva, Switzerland on Thursday, July 2nd, 2009. In the audience were 250 youth delegates from 150 countries, as well as the senior leaders of the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies, the International Committee of the Red Cross and representatives of the local and national governments of Switzerland and the United Nations. The Declaration is read by Marina Piolino (Swiss Red Cross - French), Hafiz Salauddin (Bangladesh Red Crescent - English), Amal Emam (Egyptian Red Crescent - Arabic), Elvis Matute (Panamanian Red Cross - Spanish), Aubin Dupree (American Red Cross - English) and Salimata Konan (Red Cross of the Ivory Coast - French).
