I often see young filmakers approaching the emotions brought on by the Iraq War and conflict in general with such an unrelenting seriousness that I usually feel alienated from the short. But the fantastical nature of Perry's Fairies not only makes the short engaging but also relatable. A universally understandable response through the eyes of a child we at some point in our lives can all remember. I highly recommend.
