We took some time to work with rattan gatherers to learn how they harvest and management particular forest areas. We worked during the day, carrying rattan in the morning and working with one of the indigenous people we met to visit key forest areas -- paths traveled by elephants, logs where sunbears sleep in, caves where bats can found, steep banks where some people collect spiders.

We spent our evening like a lot of evenings, cooking, talking, falling asleep to a hard rain. We hope to return to this area to start leave a camera so local people can document key forest areas important to them.
