We plan to reach the Summit of North Africa’s highest peak (Toubkal) in early January 2013. We are following the same route as the first pioneers Segonzac, Berger and Dolbeau took in 1923, 90 years on from the first summit we will be photographing the trip using photographic processes and cameras from the 1920’s alongside the latest digital video equipment to document the trip. we aim to create an authentic and timeless body of work that bridges the gap between early pioneers and modern day mountaineering, creating a book and a series of exhibitions and talks.
Leaving on the 8th of January we aim to have reached the summit of Jebel Toubkal within 5 days, leaving the rest of the trip to explore other peaks including the second highest summit ‘Ouankrim’ the surrounding valleys and mountain villages.
