Mike and I approached a small school of redfish tailing just after low tide just where a small creek opened into a larger mud flat. We watched them tail for a couple minutes. I made a cast in front of 6-8 fish pointed towards the bow of the boat and started a slow strip set. As I felt tension, I tried to strip-set but pulled the fly ouf of the mouth of one of the fish. With my heart in my throat, the anxiety of missing the fish ensued. Still waiting to catch my first one at low tide.
