The was done to fulfill a module criteria at uni, I decided to do Sound Design to add another feather to my editing cap. The criteria set was to take around a 5 minute extract of a film, with at least 2 minutes of dialogue, strip the original audio out of the film extract and record everything from stratch; dialogue, foley, SFX, spot FX, atmosphere, basically everything you hear.
I chose the breakfast in a diner scene, 'Zoe the Cat' from Tarantino's Death Proof scene because the dialogue was very challenging, with pace, tempo and rythm changes throughout and well as the 7 minute scene was shot in one continuous take, meaning actors are constantly in and out of shot as the camera pans and tracks around the table.
Due to actors that put themselves forward, a Romanian actor voices Zoe, so I changed part of the dialogue slightly to suit, but I think all the actors suit there original actors face and mannerisms well.
My first first ever role of a sound design, and although I want to add bits to it and remix it slightly, I am pleased with it.
