There are times when a bluescreen is preferable over a greenscreen, such as when shooting anything that is going to end up composited against a blue sky background anyway. We noticed that the standard "painter's blue" 3M brand masking tape (available at any hardware or paint supply store) was a very close match to a chroma blue. So we had some paint color-matched to the tape. This means you can not only paint your background blue but also use blue masking tape to cover anything that can't be painted. In our quick and dirty test this combination worked very well. It is also much cheaper than industry chromakey paint and tape.

Lowes' Hardware will mix the paint for you if you give them the following information: Exterior Latex Satin -- BASE 5 -- 102-5Y26 109-2.5 113-6Y24.5 115-1Y44.5
