“Characters”, I believe everything and everyone has a character, even inanimate objects.
My work has developed over the past 35 years. I have always had a love of portraiture. Every person I paint has a story in their face. From the very young to the very wise, each expression or wrinkle tells the viewer something about them. I try to imagine what their life has been like.
When I paint flowers and natures’ creatures, I am inspired by their color, textures and intricacies. Nature is always a source of inspiration. Even inanimate objects possess a character. An old building, ancient ruins and even a pair of shoes. They too have a story to tell and a life, in a sense, that makes them seen in a certain manner.
I wish for people to get a glimpse of how I view the characters of my subject matter.
