Great film, especially the moon sequence, Well done :-)
  • John Novotny 2 years ago
Thanks Finn, unfortunately there is some camera shake, the tripod isn't the best. But I was pleased with the end result enough to use it.

enjoyed that! I'm a Western Canadian transplanted to the SE USA, so that took me home! Thank you!

Thanks Lisa, I'll be posting more from Southern Alberta as soon as I get it edited.

    What province are you from?
  • Lisa Kehler 2 years ago
Grew up in Saskatchewan, but lived in Alberta before the move to Georgia. Was home recently for a visit and loved seeing the windmills on my jaunt on Hwy 1.

Nice video John! I liked the timelapse of the moon - it is usually hard to expose properly. I shot a video near Magrath earlier this summer, at Oldman Dam to be exact. Praires can sometimes be very surreal, keep more coming!

Thanks Paul. I have more footage from the southern Alberta I'll be posting as soon as I can edit it.

Thanks, that's very kind of you. I hope to do another video on the town itself.

Awesome video! It's helped me in my decision to buy an HFS100. How'd you get it to see the moon so clearly? That was awesome!
  • John Novotny 1 year ago
Thanks Jeremy, I'm glad I was able to help. The camera has great glass on the front of it and shooting in 24Mb/s AVCHD helps get nice HD video.

At the end of the video linked above at 2:26 I zoomed in all the way with the HFS100 to get that moon time lapse, another example of what the camera can do.

Make sure to set it to x.v. color in the settings. Have fun.

That was absolutely beautiful! Thanks for linking me to that video. I want to try my hand at a timelapse someday, it looks like it's a lot of fun to do.

Shooting time lapse can be boring depending on how long you're there, bring a book. Have fun with your new camera.
