The proportions and volumes on the drawings seem to vary, but this has nothing to do with the animation. Probabbly because it has been photocopied so much over the years that some drawings got slightly distorted from copying process. Anyway, I couldn't fix this.
And again, I couldn't get hold of all the drawings of that scene that's why its incomplete again, but better than nothing I guess...

David Nethery 5 months agoI wish Disney would just release all the pencil tests they have of the drawings in the Animation Research Library (aka "The Morgue") on a Collectors DVD set . I believe that they have digitized every drawing of every scene that is still intact in the ARL , so it would be a massive amount of material, so maybe not every scene , but Key scenes like this one could be released on DVD in pencil test form. I suppose it's too small of a niche market for them to consider doing such a thing, but I'd be first in line to buy it . -
Alex Petreski 5 months agoMe too, but the best we could hope for is that they put some of those penciltests on the BluRays to make it more attractive for those who already have the DVDs. Honestly, I doubt it, but maybe PIXAR has a good influence on that issue. I guess we will be forever punished with superficial Making-of's with praising producers, voice-actors and sing-alongs. -

5 months ago why would the pencil test be shaded? -
Alex Petreski 5 months agoI know a lot of people who shade their pencil test, they all have different reasons. Some animators do it to help the assistant in clarifiying color areas, some do it because it gives your character a certain feel of weight or volume especially with shadows, so it looks less like a "bunch of lines" (which it is apparently). And others just do it because it looks nice, an artist simply can't resist to shade a nice drawing:)
