A musician gave me his old violin which I wished could tell me its life story. My cousin gave me a family heirloom--a set of hand-blown red glass goblets from 1880. A friend gave me a beautiful picture frame in which I put a photo of my grand parents. I gave my husband the gift of two funky candle holders which I purchased from a shop on a road off of Pont Neuf in Paris. All of these gifts are what inspired me to make a painting which was meant to be dark and full of memories. The painting is called "Violin with Red Goblets."
