Simple simulation test for future project. Try to get dense particle look with help of simple material (base lightning model, isotropic volume) to achieve reasonable render time. 300 frames average time was 5 min per frame. All done in Houdini 12.
Sim. specs.:
One spotlight with depth shadows with normal size and 2 samples. All mantra settings by default, except:
Render engine - Micropolygon PBR (fastest for such case);
Tile size - 64;
Opacity limit - 0,87;
Max ray samples-24 (need near 50 to get clear look of water surface);
Noise level - 0,01;
Near camera clipping - 1,0.
