This is the 2012 highlights video of the Skyline Spartans (Sammamish, WA) football team. Led by Head Coach Mat Taylor, quarterback Max Browne (future USC Trojan) and linebacker Peyton Pelluer (future WSU Cougar), the Spartans went 14-0 on their way to their second straight 4A State Championship.

Skyline is my alma mater and I've also got a couple of younger brothers currently attending high school there -- including one who decided to play football this year for the first time with the Spartans -- so I had a lot of fun putting this video together. These kids and coaches have so much passion for the game of football and their upbeat energy is so contagious. I loved the way they truly embodied the idea of a team day in and day out, on and off the field. These kids committed so much time to almost-daily workouts, practices, studying film, breakfast and dinners with their teammates and coaches. Like the historic Spartans of Greece who were known for their prowess as a unit in warfare, these Skyline Spartans thoroughly demonstrated their prowess as an elite football unit.

Props to Mr. Greg Thies for capturing some really beautiful highlight shots (he shot most of the footage used in this video). I shot at the final Skyline home game, as well as the semi-finals and championship game at the Tacoma Dome.
