In this video i tried to show off some application of my latest advancement in character deformation:
Instead of cleaning skin deformation before sending a point point cache file to the rendering department( which can be expensive after any kind of simulation, corrective shapes tweaking etc), the idea is to build a range of motion so wide for a character articulation that any of kind of animation is possible without additional work.
Some former tools where included in this rig as well:
-The space switching node: circecharacterworks.wordpress.com/2012/06/13/maya-api-adventure-i-invalidating-an-offset-array-in-a-spaceswitching-node/
-A more in depth explanation of the -spline limb, elbowCurve, pathSegment can be found in "Cg_trigger_a_comparative_study" --> vimeo.com/52387664
-The corrective shape extraction script aka inverse SSD tools: circecharacterworks.wordpress.com/2011/03/26/presentation/
More information will be disclosed on circecharacterworks.wordpress.com/2012/12/20/a-journey-in-the-realm-of-corrective-shapes-iii-lessons-learned-so-far/
