long ago, ryan sayers sent a traverse on the dark waters boulder [new river wall], called 'spinage'. it is believed that this broke significantly. jamie emerson, unaware of ryan's efforts, sent something he called 'swamp traverse'. they are the same thing. then, swamp traverse broke a bit and folks started calling it swamp ass traverse.
