Elin Palmer: Swedish folk by a Denver rockstar
5 months ago
The vitality of the Denver music scene is perhaps best explained by way of its diversity. And few embody that diversity like Elin Palmer.
Born in Sweden and raised in Denver, Elin brings a traditional Scandinavian sound to otherwise contemporary indie music. Elin grew up playing the violin and the nyckelharpa, a traditional Swedish stringed instrument that she still plays today. During high school and college, she played punk rock, indie and folk music and later toured with well known bands such as The Fray and DeVotchKa.
