'State of Origin' is a best of three series between the Maroons (Queensland) and the Blues (New South Wales), and this game was the 2009 decider. Sorry Blues!

Scenes from this short will be rolled into the Little Sydney project, but I've released this as its the final game tonight, and a lot of people will see the footage on Channel9.

This was shot by me from 2 vantage points in Sydney's ANZ Stadium. New for me is the extended reach using tilted lenses, as well as a faster shutter rate to capture action without having to shoot video. I'm shooting timelapse so have taken some liberties in recombining the footage to tell my version of the story.

Thanks to Liam Berkery & Matthew Callander from Channel 9 for organizing access and featuring my work within the broadcast. Thanks also to Liam & Mike Roveto for helping me on the night.

I like how you still managed to keep a proportionate amount of detail and a steady roll-off with the DOF at long zooms. Something only a skilled person can do. I'm guessing you shot this at around 1 fps to capture as much action as possible? Nicely done :)

    Another nice one Keith!

Can you please share some of the Exif info on these shots?
What is your interval and what is the exposure length?

    Thank you

    Hi Keith,

thank you very much for your art! I am from Germany and we don't have such nice beaches and seldom such bright sunshine ;-)
I am wondering what camera you use: Nikon, Canon ... How many frames you shoot in a minute? Have you ever tried out the new 5dMkII?

Once again congratulations! It is a strange but interesting view on our lifes. Thanks again!

    Best regards
    Joerg

Great work again Keith, that was one good spot you filmed from. Would have loved to be there for the State of Origin :)

Maybe for your next project you could film the Sydney Swans........

Sweet work once again Keith. Being from Sydney, it's awesome to see my city from this perspective. Maybe you could organise a shoot off of the Harbour Bridge next time :)

    Hi Keith,
really great artwork. I watched the videos again and again...now til 2 hours. I´m fascinated in timelapse stuff, but this miniature effect really takes my breath away.

May I ask you one question? Did you only tilt your lens or is there also a swing in some videos to reach the selective focus? Because I plan to build a lens by myself from an old mf cam... and an one axis tilt would be much easier to build. Thanks for your effort and wish you all the best.

Thanks for the inspiration, Keith. I'm shooting the Chicago Marathon on October 11th and am going to try this. I'll have a nice, high vantage point from a bridge above the start line.
