I've always felt like a big brother to my little cousin, Laura-Loo. But when she asked me to shoot her wedding, I felt like an old man. Where does the time go???
I remember when Laura started dating Brandon, and my first thought being, "This guy sure is lucky I don't live nearby, 'cause there's no way anyone is good enough for my cuz." But as I spent the day stalking them from behind Macy's counters, the corners of rooms and through vineyards, I realized that, while no one was good enough for my cousin, someone was perfectly shaped for her... and that person was Brandon. I know neither one of them particularly like being the center of attention, so a wedding is about as awesome as a root canal, but in the midst of all the chaos and craziness that weddings can bring, they were completely at peace in each other's arms. The look of joy and excitement when Brandon saw his bride coming down the aisle for the first time was trumped only by the giddy weightlessness of Laura's beaming smile.
The couple exchanged vows at Santa Cruz Bible church, where Brandon works as a youth pastor and from there, we made our way to Nicholson Vineyards for an intimate reception. I could write on and on about how amazing these two are and how much I admire and respect them, but I think a video and photos might do a better job than a novel. ;) I hope that as you watch their trailer and gaze through the images, you get a sense for the God-fearing, family-loving, selfless awesomeness that is Laura and Brandon. Enjoy!
