Razorbills are seabirds of the northern Atlantic Ocean, but they have invaded Florida since December 7, 2012. There have been numerous reports from Jacksonville to Miami to the panhandle. Nobody knows exactly why, food shortage due to rising of the sea surface temperature might be an explanation.
As you can see in the video, there are millions of little fish in the warm waters of the Gulf of Mexico these birds and other creatures like Manta Rays, Dolphins and numerous birds can feed on.
We hope they will fare well when they migrate back north in the spring.
