8 Track Ride
The third video in a series of Industrial Wasteland bike rides, this one starts out with a tour past train yards, over the Industrial Canal on the historic St. Claude drawbridge, past the Chalmette Oil Refinery before crossing the Mississippi River by ferry.
The second half of the vid shows some nice views of New Orleans from the West Bank and the Canal/Algiers ferry.

Careful on them train tracks! I've crashed on tracks crossing the road diagonally before. No fun.
We have so many tracks here. Trains and trolleys. Took me down twice in the past three years, both times in the rain. You can't be careful enough.
Tires: I like Vredestein Fortezza Quatros or regular TriComps. The Quatros have flat protection wrapped from bead to bead where the TriComps have the protection in the center only. They both have a hard center and gooey edges. They corner like a dream and work well in wet weather.
Still, in New Orleans, sometimes they last 6 months, other times they get sliced in a week. The price you pay for speed I guess.
