nols.edu NOLS has been developing leaders since 1965. But don't take our word for it. This NOLS Leaders video features grads sharing their passion for the school and describing what its like to learn leadership in awe-inspiring wilderness and then apply it to everyday life.

Cool Video! I liked the different perspectives mentioned here; however, as as recent NOLS grad (June WRW 2008), I think a younger, fresher perspective might be needed to round out the candidates in this ad. Otherwise, interesting stuff!

Great Video! I like how it depicts the variance in what NOLS grads go on to accomplish. The leadership skills extend into any career. I would like to see some of the NASA folks add their input.

The most important thing I learned on my NOLS trip was how to communicate an collaborate with peers to get BIG things done. I think this element of leadership is largely missing from a traditional education.

I could not be a stronger believer in what this video portrays. As the new leadership of tomorrow that will take on some of our country's greatest challenges emerges, a greater necessity for individuals who have the "internal compass" that is developed on NOLS courses will be seen. It is great to see some alumni reflect on this sentiment and support the great value of a NOLS experience.

Wonderful video filled with such honest and diverse perspectives on the many facets leadership can hold in our society. I do agree, the NASA folks would be a wonderful addition!

I think this video was great. It really highlighted the ways in which people have applied the NOLS leadership Curriculum to the business and educational world outside of the Backcountry. I think getting views from CEO's as well as some lower-level graduates might help enhance the video even more. Great job!

    Positive
-A great spectrum of leadership types were shown here.
    -Outspoken vs. Passive
-Jabali Sawicki had a very good point about needing a strong moral code and a system that will help.
-Torri Mcclure's point on the spoon fed education was a very accurate critique of why its so hard to find leaders today.
-Plus she added a solution, NOLS.
-Darryl Burtnett's final punch line was very good. A+ ending.
    Constructive
-Darryl Burtnett is very quite, some words are hard to hear.
-I personally felt there were a few occasion where the video meandered away from talking about leadership and instead focused on the economy.
-I can understand that Fred Kleisner talking about less corporate jets means taking necessary sacrifices, but its kind of a stretch in the context.

*NASA would be really cool, but overall a really awesome video!
