    hi Mike!
i haven't got a technical bone in my body; you could be playin' 'flip art' from a whole heap of box brownie pix as far as i 'know', now here's the thang... i am audience, the masses, the eyes an' ears of the uninitiated, now, you git THEIR attention, you've made it!
    you got my attention! ;)*
    love it, outa site!!!
    the blog is, for me, an essential bonus especially as it credits the musos with linx;
Music by Lehoczky Tamas, Pulpo Hungary... thanx! ;)*

Very detailed look at your artist and her art..

  • Tameside 2 years ago
Totally brilliant, couldnt take my eyes off it. I dare not ask you your camera settings, dont even respond to it, as its irrelavent, you show what is possible and how to create an interesting piece of work that promotes the subject, the music and the art, awesome.
  • Mike Kobal plus 2 years ago
    thanks Tameside.
manual exposure, manual focus, everything manual :)

Beautiful. And thats the same camera that I said looked "muddy" in your two comparison films. Well, you live and learn.

  • Very expressive, especially the use of black and white. How did you obtain the BW look?
  • Mike Kobal plus 2 years ago
thanks Patrick, shot in b/w tweaked in fcp. 3way color correction.
  •
  • Very nice Mike. The look and music reminds me of Aronofsky.
  • Mike Kobal plus 2 years ago

Amazing look man, you're great, try to convert the mp3 file of the video to an aiff format to stop the little annoying beat sound
  • Mike Kobal plus 2 years ago
thanks Hector, ah, thats what I should have done.
  •
  • Lee Azzarello 2 years ago
Cool concept, though I think you focus too much on her pretty face and slow motion wind through hair. I can't tell if it's about her or about her art.

Technically, it's beautiful and I'm totally sold on the GH1.
  • Mike Kobal plus 2 years ago
thanks Lee. just don't look at her face ;-) fast forward.
  •
  • Gavin Owens plus 2 years ago
odd and absorbing. The artist is beautiful but the presentation of her work defies that.
You are becoming the maestro of DSLR cinema!
Are you waiting for the Scarlet?
  • Mike Kobal plus 2 years ago
thanks GO, of course! but will the Scarlet ever become reality?
  • Gavin Owens plus 2 years ago
I can only hope so. The spec of the Scarlet is a dream that all of us are waiting for to become a reality. Personaly, after seeing what they did with the Red one, the Scarlet or Epic will happen. If you subscribe to the Red forum then you might think differently as it's a love fest without the right drugs!
    We wait with bated breath.

  • Every make will continue now what RED has started. The BIG makes will keep on doing research and I don´t think RED has much chance now... They defied the big ones so now they will have to deal with it... I am a huge fan of RED and their concept but they shouldn´t have announced scarlet in such a earlier stage... They made others with more development and production power to become afraid and decided to play the game... I am pretty sure that if RED launches Scarlet Canon and Pansasonic and even Sony will beat them... Till then I will enjoy the reality... EOS 5D and GH1

I love it and saved it to play on my PS3. Excellent, Excellent work. :o)
I'm wondering if the GH1 will ever become a reality for me? Ordered May 7th and STILL not here.
  • Mike Kobal plus 2 years ago
thanks Roger. not sure why there is a shortage on the camera, just a strategy to make us forget that it is overpriced i guess
  •

I don't understand the story (the screenplay), the situation inside of the film..
  • Mike Kobal plus 2 years ago

    Awesome work Mike!
I have read a number of reviews that state still cameras with video capability produce poor quality videos and vice versa. I guess they never saw your work.
Is the slow motion in camera or post process?
  • Mike Kobal plus 2 years ago
thanks Gizmo6023. shot 60p slowed to 30p in post.

    GLORIOUS

    <3 TEH BLEAK

Concept is genious too and well perplexing if I really let my mind into it...capturing the creation of a beautiful creation, by a beautiful creature and then interpreted, mixed down and mastered out by a creator of beauty.

Absolutely stunning. Will be checking this again several times. Would love that piece as well.

    Cheers!
