This is random, but I saw this comment and figured I'd put in my 2 cents if your thinking about making that switch... I just bought the Xtreme for my 170, and it's for sure a difference from the HVX. It vignettes a little more, though its for sure noticeably wider (even if you do zoom slightly) which is nice. Since the camera itself is lighter, its a bit more front heavy with the lens on than the HVX/Xtreme combo, but nonetheless a little lighter over all. I've been super stoked on my 170 so far, its worth considering making that switch in my opinion, plus I think all you'd have to do to get your HVX lens converted is have century re-machine the mount, since its the same glass piece.
