I took two field courses in local geology from NVCC: Bedrock Geology of Washington DC and Geology of the Billy Goat Trail, including Great Falls MD. Instead of writing a paper, Callan Bentley (instructor) let me put together a video.
The video describes the geologic history and corresponding rocks - including the Iapetus Ocean, Taconian Orogeny, and the recent activity of the Potomac River.
