On July 15, 2009, Carrie Brownstein of NPR's Monitor Mix, arranged a meet-up of Phish fans in Portland, Oregon. This event was part of a week long theme: "How I Learned To Stop Worrying and Love Phish." People were asked to bring along CDs of their favorite live Phish shows in order to help Carrie make sense of it all.

Nice I've seen Phish in Portland twice in the 90's and also lived there for a bit. There aren't too many Phish fans in Portland even in their 90s hayday. Anyway I enjoyed this piece, hopefully its on npr sometime, I listen to that all the time.

What possesed Carrie to make this I wonder. phish is so off the radar, especially today. Most people have no clue what Phish is and they've been gone for sometime
