This is a 4 week student project based on the theme of flight made for the graphic design and illustration course, level 3. The film is my personal interpretation of the birth of a butterfly.
Project duration (from conceptual development to final editing): 4 weeks.

Execution: this artwork is a result of a spontaneous video session between me and my best friend via Skype while being thousand miles away from each other. We had no script and no fixed idea of what the final animation should be. Maria was free to express herself through the movements in any way she wanted with a little bit of direction from me. Also no special effects were used during the filming, the only source of lighting is the laptop screen on the other side.

I see this film as a completely conceptual piece which carries the atmosphere of a subtle beauty and tenderness. I wanted to show the delicacy of a female focusing mostly on her inner essence rather than only on her body. That's why I wanted to attain the perfection of the movement flow and the synchronism with the beautiful music of Four Tet which for me is the example of ideally balanced contemporary electronic instrumental music.
