My first "5 Second Project" entry. Learned a lot about how Particular's aux system works, in case you're wondering the aux system allows particles from particular to generate their own particles, which is how I got a star streaks.
My original space shot was a bit more realistic but I toned it down to something you might see done back in the 60's after I started to go with more of a retro feel.

Oddly the aux system particles lagged a little bit behind the source particle so I made them 0% opacity so all that is left is the cool looking streaks.
