In no particular order, here's a short slideshow of some of my favourite images from this year's weddings. This year has seen me embrace the latest full frame technology in order to use as little flash as I can get away with.
Although I'll still use a blink of fill flash to lift shadows, and occasionally blitz a dancefloor for a spotlight effect, in general, I'm letting natural light take the starring role. It's been a tough process as I've always loved my flashguns / strobes / speedlights (whatever you like to call them) and was heavily influenced by the whole Strobist movement.
The recent purchase of a Nikon D600 has allowed me to shoot in very dim rooms at ridiculous ISOs without any significant loss of quality. It's allowed my working methods to develop in ways we could only dream about a few years ago.
I can honestly say that I've never anticipated a wedding season more than right now. The latest technology really has opened up some new, creative channels - I can finally shoot the way I'd like to, and get the photographs my clients want.
All the best to one and all - have a great year :-)
