Marvin is our dear friends’ (Rommel and Zane) close relative…no wonder, he is also good looking! Lol :) We were not surprised that he is as kind and as sweet as them. He initially had to visit our shop alone; because at the time he was preparing for the wedding, his fiancé, Ivy, was working abroad. Ivy sent us messages through Facebook and indicated that she’s really excited to work with us…by the way, so as we :) This why we were so pleased to meet her personally.
They first met in the hospital where Marvin’s mother and Ivy were working. This was back in October, 2007. They were introduced by Marvin’s family friend, and Marvin was able to get Ivy’s number. Since he was committed with someone else at the time, they just became good friends, textmates, and chatmates.
When Marvin left to work abroad in a board ship, he had problems with his girlfriend back then and they broke up. When he came back to the Philippines, he had this hope that Ivy was still working at the same hospital considering she had a plan to work abroad as well. He found out she transferred somewhere else, so he tried to contact her. Fortunately she responded. Ivy refused his invitations to fetch her from her work numerous times. One instance just to make her agree, Marvin had to tell her a white lie that he will also go play in a badminton place near the hospital. So that’s it, she finally said yes! So Marvin then came wearing his badminton attire to make his story credible! Lol! “Para-paraan lang yan” he said :)
That’s the start of their friendship and eventually Marvin courted her. It was a tough job for Marvin as Ivy had three suitors then! He showed perseverance by fetching Ivy everyday for two months… STRAIGHT… as in he didn’t miss a day even if it’s 4:00am in the morning! :) The courtship period ended when he invited her in Vivere Alabang for a dinner date… There, he finally got Ivy’s “yes.”
They had a long distance relationship for two years. It was a very difficult challenge for them, but they conquered the odds. They had their Civil Wedding last December 3, 2010, but things got even more complicated… Through God’s grace, they overcame all the trials, and they were able to adjust.
So this is it! Marvin and Ivy’s grand and dream wedding finally came to reality. They finally had their Christian Wedding in the beautiful place of Antel Grand Village.
We were blown away when we arrived to the suite room that they reserved for the preps. It was as big as a house. We were very comfortable which made the whole shooting more fun! Our team was also happy that they were all game and very fun to be with!
They had a very lovely and heartfelt wedding, one that the couple and all their guests would cherish forever :) Thanks Marvin and Ivy for the trust and the friendship! We’re happy that we are one of your suppliers’ top favorites :) Took place at Oasis Hotel and Antel Grand Village, Tanza, Cavite. By Team Freshminds
