Last Spring, I had the honor of interviewing Japanese artist Kenjiro Azuma. I wished to explore the relationship between Eastern and Western Aesthetic, but I got a long and inspiring talk about the war. He was a soldier during the second world war, and he focused on the history of the relationship between Japan and the U.S.A. The tragedies of Hiroshima and Nagasaki emerged as a dramatic result of the dangerous gap often existing between what is said and the intentions behind it.
