Tiles is an animation made of a large photographic collection of street tiles. By viewing this collection of photographs as a sequence, different movements and processes become visible within the frame of the tiles. Both music and animation are trying to find a balance between a thought-out arrangement and an arrangement of ‘chance’ deriving directly from the tiles.

Heel mooi gedaan, echt prachtig. Hoe heb je dit gefotografeerd? Met behulp van een constructie? Heb je de muziek ook zelf samengesteld?
De foto's heb ik uit de losse hand gemaakt, maar met een paar markers op de display van de camera. De muziek heb ik gemaakt door het geluid van schuurende tegels op te nemen en te vertragen. Uit dat geluid heb ik melodiën gehaald en deze aangevuld met geluiden van andere tegels en paaltjes.
